Write a Funny List Poem

This Writing worksheet introduces students to list poems, a fun poetic form that combines a beginning, a list in the middle, and an ending.

Designed to accompany the How to Write a Funny List Poem lesson, the worksheet provides three different templates for students to create their own list poems: one about collecting pets, another about buying items instead of bread, and a third about doing chores on April Fool’s Day.

Each template includes a humorous beginning and ending, with space for students to write their own creative lists in between. The activity enhances creative writing skills, understanding of poetic structure, and rhyming abilities. This exercise makes poetry writing accessible and enjoyable for grades 3-5 by providing clear frameworks while encouraging creative expression.
