A Fishy List
From the book A Festival for Frogs
Christmas day, beneath our tree,
here’s a list of what I see:
Feathers, tuna, toys with bells,
tasty treats with fishy smells,
scratching post and fluffy bed,
ball of yarn and spool of thread,
laser pointer, catnip, mouse,
comfy, cozy kitty house.
I hope next year I’ll do better.
I wrote Santa Claus a letter
which he somehow must have missed.
Instead he read my kitten’s list.
