I’m thrilled to share some news that’s both personal and professional: I’m now maintaining Jack Prelutsky’s official website!
Jack and I have been friends for more than 25 years. Over that time, I’ve admired not only his boundless imagination and poetic brilliance, but also his generosity and humor, qualities that shine through in every one of his poems. A couple of years ago, when his website was having technical troubles, I had the opportunity to help him rebuild it from the ground up. This year, Jack asked me if I’d be willing to take over running the site for him, and of course I said yes. It’s an honor to help share his poetry with the world.
Every few months, I’ll be adding a selection of Jack’s poems to the site, grouped by fun and familiar themes. So far, I’ve added pages of poems about food, birds, and, most recently, sports. You’ll find some old favorites and maybe a few surprises too. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering his work for the first time, there’s plenty to enjoy.
