Our Teacher’s a Ghost
From the book A Festival for Frogs
We have a new teacher.
We think she’s a ghost.
Of all of the teachers,
she scares us the most.
The dress that she wears
looks a lot like a sheet.
It brushes the ground.
Does she even have feet?
She moans and she groans
at the students all day.
She boos if our schoolwork
is done the wrong way.
It’s clear she’s a ghost.
Though we weren’t sure before,
we knew it the minute
she walked through the door.
