Our Baseball Team Is Always Last
From the book The Elephant Repairman
Our baseball team is always last.
Our pitcher’s “fastball” isn’t fast.
Our batters never hit the ball.
Our catcher cannot catch at all.
Our runners always run too slow.
Our basemen like to watch grass grow.
Our shortstop stops a bit too short.
Our fielders don’t enjoy the sport.
We’ve never won a single game,
and only have ourselves to blame.
Until we get some different players
We can’t do much but say our prayers.
