Last Night I Made Friends with a Giant
From the book A Festival for Frogs
Last night I made friends with a giant,
an elf, and a unicorn too.
I swam with a beautiful mermaid,
then climbed on a dragon and flew.
I went to a ball in a castle.
I partied with princes and queens.
I rescued a girl from a tower.
I purchased some magical beans.
I helped a few pigs build their houses,
then ran from some bears and a witch,
uncovered a cave full of treasure
and ended up famous and rich.
I had all these awesome adventures.
An evening was all that it took.
I’m glad that I happened to doze off
while reading a fairy tale book.
