I’m Glad at Last It’s Halloween
From the book A Festival for Frogs
I’m glad at last it’s Halloween.
Tonight will be a spooky scene
as ghosts and goblins roam the streets
in search of houses serving sweets.
I’ll see some zombies dressed in rags
and mummies shuffling with their bags.
A vampire here, a werewolf there,
a cyclops with a one-eyed stare.
Okay, I think I’ve changed my mind.
With all the monsters I might find,
I’d better stay in here and hide.
I’m much too scared to go outside.
