I Tried to Ride a Skateboard
From the book My Cat Knows Karate
I tried to ride a skateboard.
I fell and scraped my knee.
I tried to ride a bicycle.
I crashed into a tree.
I tried to ride a scooter.
I landed on my chin.
I tried to ride a unicycle;
lost a bit of skin.
I even tried a tricycle
but ran into a wall.
I’m happy in this wheelchair now.
I never fall at all.

About This Poem
I don’t know why, but I love poems that involve crashing. Running and screaming is good too, but crashing is especially fun. Every now and then I write a poem that involves someone crashing into something. For this poem, I decided to crash all sorts of things, skateboards, bicycles, scooters, and more.
