I Dressed up as a Dinosaur
From the book A Festival for Frogs
I dressed up as a dinosaur
for Halloween this year.
I thought I’d frighten everyone
and make them quake with fear.
I stomped and tromped around the house.
I raised my head and roared.
But no one seemed to notice me.
In fact, they all looked bored.
My father yawned and rolled his eyes.
My mother said, “That’s cute.”
My sister said, “Adorable!
I love your dino suit.”
I thought they’d all be terrified
but they weren’t scared at all
since no one minds a dinosaur
that’s only three feet tall.
