Cinderella, Soccer Player
From the book My Cat Knows Karate
Cinderella stunk at soccer.
She was bad at basketball.
Though equipment filled her locker
she could hardly play at all.
Baseball, football, hockey, tennis;
none were Cinderella’s sport.
No one feared her speed or menace
on the field or rink or court.
Though she spent her evenings training,
and on weekends she would drill,
practicing without complaining,
she could not improve her skill.
Her performance wasn’t stellar.
Still, she was beyond reproach.
That’s because poor Cinderella
had a pumpkin for a coach.
