Over at Children’s Poetry Summit, the focus was on illustrations in children’s poetry. The post, Kate Wakeling: Poems and Illustrations discussed how integral illustrations are to a finished poetry collection.
Danna Smith Book Blog
Danna Smith wrote about her book, The Magic of Falconry: Blending Fact with Fiction in Children’s Books. She discussed how her childhood fascination with falconry inspired her children’s book, “The Hawk of the Castle,” and how she blended real facts with a fictional story.
David L. Harrison
David L. Harrison has been quite busy this week! He wrote about turning a single sound into a story with Turning a sound into a story. He also shared news that Jo Van Arkel is coming back to Poetry from Daily Life and has a second column out. And speaking of columns, Ellen Hopkins is featured in a column with the post, Ellen Hopkins featured on Poetry from Daily Life. In addition to that, David L. Harrison is hosting a concluding event on September 30th, discussed in the post, Getting set for September 30. Plus, David looks back at a successful workshop in What you do after giving a workshop and he recounts the workshop itself in I had a fine time at the workshop.
