In addition to my in-person author visits, I also "visit" hundreds of schools each year via the Internet. Online author visits are live, interactive videoconference presentations, that require only a PC or Mac with a broadband Internet connection and a flash-enabled browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.
